从Bluehost到Dreamhost再到Hostmonster，网站再次搬家

自上次由于GFW问题不得以从bluehost.com搬到dreamhost.com之后，网站再次面临着搬家的问题，这次是因为dreamhost的空间费用太高了。

要说dreamhost的市场策略还是还是很有技巧性的。在你初次购买空间的时候，可以使用它的promotion code，只需要24美金不到200多大元就可以享受250G的空间，这和国内动不动就是300M空间开价300元比起来确实是有很大的诱惑力。不过一年之后当你需要续费的时候，空间的费用就变成了120美金。很多懒得搬家的网站就只能乖乖的付费了。还好我的网站比较简单，除了一个blog和一个相册之外没什么别的内容，文件占用的空间也不多，搬次家还是比较简单的。至于域名就更简单了，重新指定name server就可以解析到新的SP。

经过多方比较，中间排除了hostgator，ixwebhosting，godaday，最后选定了hostmonster.com。经过确认，这是bluehost的兄弟公司，只是针对的客户群有些差异。选择hostmonster的最大理由，除了费用便宜之外，就是可以将ixuewen.com这个域名从bluehost免费transfer过来，并且享受永久免费renew的优惠。

空间买来之后试了试，在家里的ADSL上传可以达到40k左右，下载用flashget多进程的话可以到200k以上，对于这个速度我已经很满意了。虽然可能存在IP被GFW掉的风险，但是据说可以通过购买固定IP来解决，因此也就不太在意了，先用起来再说，反正hostmonster承诺可以按使用时间来退款的。不过，hostmonster的用户界面和dreamhost比起来，好像多了些麻烦，具体的我会进行详细的比较，然后写一篇文章。看在速度和银子的份上，麻烦一点也就忍了吧。

Finally, I cancelled the account of Bluehost.com. The downloading speed was good but the uploading speed was poor, which was only 10KB/s averagely. If I want to upload a movie of 700M, I have to wait for 20 hours or even more. And there is 250G size total for me to fill in. OMG! Now this site is hosting by Dreamhost, which is famous for its low price and CPU time limitation. The price is very attactive, only $9.74 after a promotion discount. The price at Bluehost was $94. As for the CPU time, it does not bother me yet. Maybe after this blog becomes popular, I will consider this problem. Well, the uploading speed at Dreamhost is satisfatory. I can always have 30KB/s when I upload files. Hope the good condition will last!

Well, I did not expect this experience.

The connection speed is extremely slow when I was uploading the pages, even below 1KB/s. Gosh! Unbelievable!!! I’m using a 2M ADSL at home. I made an IDD phone call to the bluehost support center and wrote several mails for help. Hope the problem will be solved soon. Otherwise, I have to consider a relocation. Too bad!
